My wife died in Feb 2008. I would like to remove her from the mortgage and the title and add my 2 daughters only to the title. Does this protect the house from judgements or liens should I default on a commercial lease that I signed as an individual?

No - you have to be off Title entirely.

On the side, why aren't you the only one on Title today? Either her Will, Living Trust, or the Probate process would have your Title resolved by now, and you should be the exclusive Title holder.
