you can in most states get a form call "Quick Claim Deed" complete the form and your dad can sign the property over to you some amount of monerty value is given (not less than $1.00) and file the deed with the court house in your town. Or better still check with a lawyer, or legal aide office in your town and they can help. It would be best to get legal help that could save problems later.

Hi shina,

You will have to file an affidavit of heirship in the county recorder's office in order to transfer the property in your name. However, if your husband has left a will, then that needs to be probated first. Once the probate is complete, the property would be divided as per the will.

Thanks,

Jerry

Hi chuck!

Welcome to forums!

You can ask your wife to sign a quit claim deed in order to add your name to the property deed.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hi jojo,

If the property is in your husband's name, then he will have to sign a quit claim deed and add your name to the property deed. Unless he does so, you won't be able to add your name to the property deed.

Thanks
