You can immediately block the account from which they are debiting money. Once you do that, file a complaint with State Attorney General and FTC. I think they will immediately take steps so that your issue gets resolved.

Yes it is illegal to call you and threaten you at workplace. I suppose the collection agencies are doing so, right? Well, do you owe the debt at all? If not, you can send them a cease and desist letter ("http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/template-cdletter.html") asking them not to contact you. If you do owe the debt, then remind them that they're violating the FDCPA. Then request them to allow you for a settlement of your debt.

Believe me you do not want to take a loan out with Geneva Roth Capital, 1338 South Foothill Drive #325, Salt Lake City, UT 84108 (800)351-8820. I thought that it was to easy to be true. I took a loan out for $300.00, but they deposited $500.00 in to my account. GRC FUNDING PAYMENT T8180507 for the amount of $150.00 was taken out 10/30/08 then GRC FUNDING PAYMENT T8293250 for the amount of $150.00 was taken out 11/13/08 then GRC FUNDING PAYMENT T8428331 for the amount of $150.00 was taken out 11/28/08 then GRC FUNDING PAYMENT T8428331 for the amount of $150.00 was taken out 12/03/08 then GRC FUNDING 8003518820 T8513648 for the amount of $150.00 was taken out 12/11/08 then GRC FUNDING 8003518820 T8834979 for the amount of $150.00 was taken out 01/22/09 then GRC FUNDING 8003518820 T8934953 for the amount of $150.00 was taken out 02/05/09. I went to my bank and filled a written statement under penalty or perjury form and sent Geneva Roth Capital a formal letter with an ACH AUTHORIZATION REVOCATION form stating all future entries will be returned unpaid.
They took an overpayment of $400.00 out of my account. And when I called them and ask them about this all they did was laugh at me.
Something has to be done about these people.

Post     Post subject: Loan payoff

As mentioned above, Geneva-Roth took money out of my checking account after the loan was completely paid off. I've contacted them several times with promises to credit my account back (no funds have been credited, and I occured an outstand amount of overdraft fees because of this withdrawal). I've also contacted BBB, they've sent the info. to Geneva-roth and given them to Feb. 17th to handle the situation. What happens if this company still does not credit the money back into my account after Feb. 17th? What will the BBB do in this case?

Hi Guest,

I think if Geneva Roth doesn't credit the money in your account after February 17th, then they can take actions against them. If you do not get the money on the due date, you should immediately bring that to the notice of BBB.

Thanks.

Post     Post subject: beware of Geneva Roth

With the economy crisis that we are experiencing, its really important that we monitor our bank account regularly, because a lot of crooks are all over the place. Geneva Roth just deposited $$$ in my account too! I talked to my bank and helped me out on it. Make sure you dont give them any information. This is how ID Theft starts.

Please beware of this company. They also have several names, they use Chieftan Funding and other various company name but they are under Geneva Roth.

I sure hope someone will investigate on this company...

Post     Post subject: what is the geneva Roth Web site

I called the toll free number that was on my bank state ment and they stated that I was paying 60 dollars every two weeks as a extension I thought It was going towards my principal I borrowed 200 dollars this was back in november. The lady told me I had to go to their web site and choose my payment method. If they can take money out of my account for and extension why can't they do that for the principal. And why no phone calls or letters I didn't even know my account number. Anyway She never emailed me the web site address and I need to choose my method of payment by the end of today or they will take anothe 60 dollars out of my account. I'm a single mother of 4 children and I work hard to make ends meet but if they continue to take my money I will not be able to afford anything.

Hi Guest!

Welcome to forums!

It is quite surprising that you do not know your account number. I think you should contact them once again and ask them to guide you in choosing the correct option. In case, you chose a wrong option, you may face issues in paying off the dues.

Post     Post subject: Can they really do this??

In Jan of this year I applied for a $200 loan recieved a call on my voicemail at work that I was approved for $200 and $60 would be taken out every 2wks until it was paid. Since then they have taken $420 as an "extention" as I have never logged on to their web site to pay the loan so according to them I still owe them the $200.00. I guess I didn't realize companies could do this- how is it legal? They say they send emails asking if I wanted to extend my loan which I never recieved. They said that was because I have a smap blocker on the account and it was my responsiblity to go online and pay the account. As far as I'm concerned they owe me. Is there a way to fight this and get my money back??

If you borrow 300 dollars and pay it back on your first payday it costs you as little as $90 in interest. if you dont repay for 3 months it will cost you $540 in interest. Pay back sooner or pay the fee.

Lets think about business sense right here:

If you pay them back on time then they are able to lend that money to someone else allowing for their business to be profitable like mcdonalds or microsoft.

Why should they not charge you more when you cost them money because they can not put that capital back in a new loan of a consumer happy to pay the SHORT TERM loan fee?

I cannot believe that your company can actually get away with the procedures you do for charging individuals like myself. I obviously missed something on my loan agreement because I would have NEVER agreed to pay you $300.00 a month for absolutely NOTHING and not have it hit my account. I cannot believe that you actually take advantage of people in this manner. I have since become laid off from my employer and having you withdraw $300 from me per month without it even affecting my balance is an outrage. Your company should be shut down!!!!
