Can you have a mortgage and not be named on the title or Deed of the property?

Fred to get a mortgage in your name, you have to have your name on the title of the house otherwise lender will not provide you a mortgage.

Hi Fred,

The reason all have said that you cannot get a mortgage without your name on the title of the property is that mortgage itself means that you are taking a loan for the value of your property. And if you cannot pay back the loan then lender/bank will have legal rights to sell the house and recover whatever amount you did not repay.

If you do not have your name on the title of the property then lender/bank will not be able to recover the money they will lend you in case you do not pay back within the specified time period. It is a kind of security for the lender that they will get their money back.
