My arm is due to reset in November 2011,5/1 arm. We cashed out in 2006 thought we had the house sold, then the buyer backed out , then the market took the big hit, now what do I do, cant afford the higher payment. I have $30.000 in the bank but I will not give it to the mortgage co for nothing, my wife was going to start back to work in 2007 but became totally disabled, I have been told I will not get another raise. We are $115.000 upside down, Everything I have read lately the bank wants to know every thing and even with a good case its steal Impossible to get a mod or anything to help. We have 8 Months to go, We have excellent credit now, paying the minimum, if we walk away we may be taxed until were broke, I need to keep extra money aside because of my wife's disability, I have some extra assets amounting up to $25.000, but the economy being what it is I cant even get maybe half that , Its a classic car, so I don't want to sale it for nothing, WHAT, if any options do I have. I have been riped off once already by bogus mod co, I can put money in someones pocket, but nut up front, that will never happen again.

Hi garrysmisty,

Welcome to Mortgage fit,

Its your money and you need to protect it.Firstly I am neither a representative of any mortgage company nor a broker...I will never ask you any contact info.of yours..I am just a forum member who is posting here to spread awareness of the mortgage related issues....

In order to get modification you should be delinquent on your mortgage payments...atleast for few months...then only your bank will hear plea...because if you are current on your mortgage then your existing bank may not offer you modification....

But still I will suggest you that you should look for another lender which may offer lower rates....You can also go through our website's lender list and you may contact them for the modification.....

Here is the link....

Feel free to ask any further query if you have.....
