My husband currently works full time and goes to college part-time in the evenings. He has about 18 months left to finish. I think his student loans will be in the range of $25000 when he's done. We would like to start the mortgage/homebuying process in the fall - but just saw on another thread a guy had a problem buying a house while he was still a student with loans deferred. Does this apply if the applicant is working full time? Will we have to wait for my husband to start paying back his loans to qualify for a mortgage?

Hi Guest!

Welcome to forums!

If the applicant is working full-time, I don't think there will be a problem in getting a mortgage. However, your husband should have a good credit score and income in order to get a mortgage to buy a home.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
