My husband and I just went through a shortsale on our previous home. We want to buy again and have read that its possible soon after going the unconventional route. Any suggestions? Otherwise, fha guidelines apparently have.3 yr waiting period. We have been told to get a mortgage non backed by fannie or Freddie.... or an "unconventional" loan...

Hi jess!

Welcome to forums!

After a short sale you will have to wait for 2-3 years in order to qualify for a conventional loan. I don't think you can get a loan before that.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
