wildcat Guest	Posted: Thu Feb 24, 2011 10:39 am    Post subject: can a collection agency sue me? Like 0 Dislike 0 I am gettting calls from a collections agency in FL for a debt that is 3 1/2 yrs old. It was from a payday loan. What is the statue of limitationson these debts??? I know they can garnish my wages, but this company is calling everyone even my 15 yr old son leaving msg they are investigating a identity theft/fraud investigation. I have asked for proof of the debt so far they have only supplied me with a settlement letter. When I google this company I get nothing but est in 11/2009. If you are not sure that they own your debt, then you should ask them to validate your debt.
