Nov 2008 went to court for foreclosure
May 2010 notice of voluntary dismissal without prejudice filed
Dec. 2011 court filed paper stating mtg. paid off.
Taxes still in husbands name

we called wells fargo a few days ago and they said we own it free and clear, they charged it off and don't want the property.

Are they lying? anyone else have this going on?

Welcome pennyann,

You need to check out whether or not they have sold off the account to a collection agency. If they have sold off the account to a collection agency, then they will contact you for the payments.
