Can a home be sold if 1 of the 2 persons that own the home does not want to sell?

I helped my sister buy a house after her divorce. The purchase price was 67,000. I put up of 25,000 of this amount. Both of our names are on the deed. She paid off the remainder of the mortgage on the house after her divorce was settled. She has been in the home a couple of years. I no longer want to be a part owner of this home. Do I have the right to have the home put up for sale if she does not want to sell it or buy me out?

Welcome to the forums.

You cannot sell the property without the other owner's consent. But you can force her to sell the property by filing a Partition Lawsuit or she can pay you off your share of the home equity and you can quitclaim your share of the property to your sister.
