as with tim, i am clueless about what you are asking. "form 16" is nothing that exists in the mortgage industry in these united states. is this something from somewhere other than the usa?

and here's the bigger question: if a loan officer tells you need a "form 16" and you don't know what it is, why oh why wouldn't you ask this loan officer to tell you what it is, instead of coming online and asking it in a forum?"

does it make sense to throw such a question out to the public in general instead of asking person who's actually making the request?

sorry, but i am lately feeling like there's a lot of dross on here.

so...if form 16 is a tax-related document that is completed by an employer, why in the world would a bank officer request it in connection with a mortgage loan application?

oh yeah...and how come when i go to the irs website i cannot find form 16 referred to anywhere.

it seems like we have threads on this forum just for the sake of having threads. what a colossal waste of time, energy and space.

thank you deepak...i suppose those of us in the united states don't recognize that a site like MortgageFit can be international in scope. forgive us americans, please - we are quite provincial in our thinking, and sometimes (all too often) believe that we are the only ones on the planet.

it would, however, be beneficial, for any poster to identify his or her location so that any questions could be more properly answered. for example, this form 16 question could have been treated with more respect than we gave it had we known (had i known) it was something that was specific to india.

thanks again, for your clarity here.
