There is linoleum underneath my hard wood flooring. When they installed it, they did not do it correctly. It has the linoleum and then a thin sheet of foam. It would not cause any damage to the house to take it up, and the old floor is still underneath. Can I take the hardwood up and just leave the linoleum as is? Or will I get in trouble or something?

Well... this is something which will be better answered by a property expert. You should contact someone like that and take his/her opinion in this matter.
