Thomas Guest	Posted: Fri May 13, 2011 3:13 pm    Post subject: inherited property Like 0 Dislike 0 how can I get my name off of inherited property...I am 1/5 owner my deceased brother was 4/5 owner. The property taxes come to my house...I have been paying them since 2008...I don't want any part of this property. i feel i have trapped into this situation..my other siblings were 1/5 owners...however, they sold out to the brother before he died...no one asked my if i wanted out or nothing. My proposition is, whether the property can be rented or not? If the property can be rented then from the income of the rental property you can pay the taxes and thus it will not be from your own pocket...even if there is marginal profit, you should opt for it. But if the property can not be rented then you can donate his property to any of the social organisation in your area and thus get releived from paying the taxes thereon..
