Hi, My mom recently passed. Mom & Dad have a home in Washington State with both their names on the deed. We are trying to set up a living trust for my Dad but i am told since Mom's name is on the deed, I need to file an affidavit to have her name removed. How do I go about doing this?

Hi sjacksonross,

Your father will have to contact the local county recorder's office in order to file an affidavit of heirship.
