What happened Motomom? They did not agree on a repayment plan?

Yes Colin they did come up with a payment plan: 1.5 payments next Friday ($1700) and two payments in June ($2255), and then we would be current again with the July payment for a total of $3955 in six weeks. I hope we can do this. I am not sure. I spoke with Lewis and Associates and they said for a fee they can get something else worked out. Just wondering if anyone here had used their services.

First you will have to pay a application fee to them after which they will do a phone interview to let you know if anything would be possible on their part to help you stop foreclosure.

If they feel that nothing can be done for your situation then they will refund the fee. They are good; at least you can take the interview to see if anything can be done.

Do you have any savings or anything to use for making these payments. At least that way the loan will get current and then you can look for more options to continue the payments.

Thanks

Well Marsha, you can go ahead and have the phone interview as Knuth said, it might be that they would be able to convince Wilmington into extending the repayment time period. Do you have their website address? Its stopforeclosurecenter.com...if it can of some help.

That's good Motomom. So, the company has finally agreed to help you out. But then why do you want to get involved with Lewis and associates. I mean if they can get you something that helps, it's ok. You can go for it but I have doubts over how much these foreclosure help companies can work for you. I feel the safest way is to pay off the loan when the company wants to co-operate with you.

Good luck

I did not get too far into the process of working with Lewis & Associates when Wilmington called back with a payment plan that I think we can handle. My only problem initially was their flat charge of $995 when this would go further bringing our mortgage current. It just did not seem to be beneficial to us but I would think they might help others.

Hi Motomom,

Yes you can use this $995 for paying the default amounts on your mortgage. If had been 100-150 then it would have been different.

That is a good decision to take.

Thanks

Yes you have to decide if it would be better to spend this amount on the repayment plan or paying the fees for a possible extension of the repayment period. And I think you have decided correctly.

It wouldn't have been beneficial as Wilmington has already agreed to the repayment plan.
