If you choose and I always recommend it You can get a homeowners title policy for the life of the time you live in the home. Title insurance guarantees the title to be clean and free of any issues. This way if someone shows up down the road and has claim to the property you are insured against it. The title company would be responsible for solving the problem and keeping you in the home.
