Hi
we filed Ch7 and it was discharged Aug 2009...who will finance us or do we have to wait till Aug which will be 3 years. My middle credit score is 695. We tried FHA but we were told that they have new criteria since the beginning of 2012 and now we have to wait if we go FHA... do we qualify for a Home Path Mortgage or do we have to wait for them too. So frustrated.......

Hi!

Welcome to forums!

After getting a discharge from Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing, you will have to wait for 2 years to get a FHA loan and 4 years to get a conventional loan. If you want a FHA loan, you will be able to qualify for it now.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hi Guest,

I agree with what Sussane has said. In order to get a FHA loan after getting a discharge from Chapter 7, you need to wait for 2-3 years. You will have to wait for this time period irrespective of whichever loan you apply for. You can use this time period to improve your credit score.

Thanks
