Closing on home at the end of the date. On the closing date, the sellers have asked for 24 hours post closing before possession takes place.

I always thought closing = immediate possession.

Welcome immediatepossession,

The closing means immediate possession. As you're the new owner of the property, it'll be your discretion whether or not you'll give the earlier owners 24 hours time to move out of the property.
