Hi me and my husband are going to look into buying a house in the next few months. We make a lot of money around 95k together only problem is that he lost his job this last week. Will the last 10 years of work history he has be sufficent to get the loan?

Hi, Well if you saying he just lost his job and is unemployed then it will be near impossible to get the loan. Unless you get it just in your name.

Since you said you are looking over the span of a few months he has time to get a new job which can be used towards the mortgage, but without it you would have to be the only person on the loan, hopefully he can find employment during that time.

The last 10 years of working will only account for something if he immidiately finds another job very quickly with similar pay to help for qualifying purposes. Otherwise, unfortunately the last 10 years will mean nothing with no income coming in currently from him. I hope this helps...

Yes if he can find another job in time with the same pay and looks better in the same industry then the 10 years looks good. But if he doesnt have a job then the only way is for you to get the loan in your name.
