680 credit scores are sufficient for both fha and conventional financing. all other aspects of qualifying must be adequate, as discussed by previous posters. income, down payment (amount and source), value of the home being purchased, other obligations - these are all critical to the approval process.

| Minimum required FICO score for FHA approved loan is 620 but there will be other criteria like everyone else has said. |
