How long is a short-term loan?

Posted on: 24th May, 2010 12:05 am
I'm managing a Conference and have already used up my 2 long-term loans (both season-long) for this season. Now I'm allowed 8 'short-term' loans. What period is defined as short term? I know that 6 months is deemed long term, so could I take someone on loan for 5 months, or is that still regarded as long term?
I would suggest you to contact your lender and he will help you know the time period for short term loans.

one can not generalise this phenomenon of 'short term loan'.As tenure of the loan differs from one business to another.i.e.An infrastructure company's short term loan may be 1-5 yrs long as cash flow cycle is really big, whereas a consultancy firm has a short cash flow cycle and thus its short term could be from mere 1-3 months.
So considering all these factors it is better to discuss with your lender as he will be the right person to tackle your query.
keep in touch....

But please remember ronaladobrown...the only massages handed out on the forum are for the ego. This site does not provide any other such personal attention.

And I will agree that "short-term" is defined differently by so many. I don't believe you'll find there to be any particular standard, except industry by industry.
