Like 0 Dislike 0 we are currently renting. sold our home in june 2007 and would like to get into a home by june of next year. we have improved our credit score from 595 to 640. is an fha mortgage possible with a tax lien?

The minimum credit score needed for the FHA loan is 620. So, you definitely have the required score to qualify. But you cannot qualify for an FHA loan with a tax lien. You need to either pay it off in full or enter into some sort of repayment plan with the tax authority before applying for the loan. In case you have set up a repayment plan to pay off the tax lien, you need to show the lender that you have made payments satisfactorily for the past 6-12 months.
