i live in louisiana and a collection agency is seeking a judgment . how will this affect my home?...debt is more than 10 years old. could they seize my house?

Hi ajwc!

Welcome to forums!

As far as I know, the SOL period for written contracts in Louisiana is 10 years. If 10 years has already passed and you've not made any payments, then the collection agency cannot sue you. You'll have to contact an attorney and take his opinion in this regard.
