my husband passed away and my name is not on the mortgage but is on the home equity loan what are my rights to our home

Hi flowerchild,

If you are not on the primary loan, you will not be held responsible for it. But to prevent it from going into foreclosure, you are required to pay off the mortgage. For the non-payment of home equity loan, you will be held responsible and they can garnish your wages or put lien on the property for the default.

is there away to have my name added to the mortgage so I can sell the property to a buyer to avoid foreclosure and save my credit
