Our home went into foreclosure July 1st 2009. Our redemption period ended January 1st 2010. The bank (HSBC) listed it for sale immediatly after the redemption period and my old neighbors bought it for less than we owed. How long does the mortgage company have to come after us for the deficient amount.

Hi juliewade69

lot more depends on the deficient amount. If it is remarkable as per bank it will come after and sue you but if it is minimal (court fee and attorney fee is more than the deficient amount) then bank do not bother about recovering the money through legal battle.

Let us hope for the best....
