I bought a house 9 year ago before I was married. It just went into foreclosure 12/09. My name is not on my husbands mortgage but since we are married now (and im on the deed) can the lender from my 1st home put a lien on his house for what I owed on my old home?

Hi Rachel!

Welcome to forums!

After a property is foreclosed upon, you will be liable for paying the deficient balance to the lender. If you are unable to pay off that balance amount, then the lender will have the rights to put a lien on your present property.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
