In Michigan, I have been informed that the property will be uncapped to a surviving family member after a quit claim deed is registered with that members name included. Will the Lady Bird law not allow this to happen when the original owner passes and it is willed to said family member?

Hi johngka,

The person whose name is mentioned on the ladybird deed or the quitclaim deed will be able to claim the property after the other owner's death.

Thanks
