my father died in 1987 we never probated property i need a deed in my name for insurance for the house is it possible to quick claim or do i have to probate i have five siblings i am in detroit michigan

Hi rsims,

If your father had not left a will distributing the property among you and your siblings, then you all need to file an affidavit of heirship and transfer the property in your names. And if your father had left a will, then it will have to be probated in order to distribute the property amongst you all.
