I am going through a divorce currently and the problem I have is the house we are both living in. I am more than willing to give him the house but not sure how. We are both on the deed but I am the only one on the mortgage. I am told I quit claim deed to him and he will then be responsible for the mortgage.
Is that true, is it that simple in state of Michigan? Or will he need to refinance? Please help.....

Hi DV,

Welcome to our forum

After quit claim deed to him you have to Refinance mortgage to him then he will be resposible for pay to lender. Inform to your lender to do that.

Thanks & Regards.

you may want to speak to the lender first to find out their take on matters. of course, your husband isn't limited to that lender, either. but this is going to be tricky for you to coordinate, i'd think. you will also want to discuss this with your respective lawyers to see what steps they feel ought to be taken.

better take a decision about it in your divorce. then discuss it with your lender. ensure that your Ex can refinance mortgage in his name alone. otherwise, it will be very difficult.
