My mothers boy friend did a quit claim deed to me for his half of the house that my mother and him owned. He recorded it at the county recorders office a couple years before he died in 2007. My mother just passed away last week and I looked at the county assesment tax web sight to see who the owners names are on the property. and It shows my mothers and my daughters names. what do I need to do to make sure I get what I am entitled to.

You will be able to transfer your mother's share of the property by filing an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office. As far as the other portion of the property is concerned, it's owned by your daughter.

It sounds like it didn't get recorded. Take your copies of the recorded Quit Claim to the courthouse and request assistance.
