If my parents own a home free & clear in both their names in the state of Michigan, if the home is sold, do the proceeds go to them? Or to their marital trust?

If my parents own a home free and clear, titled in both their names in the state of Michigan
, when the home is sold, do the proceeds go directly to them? Or do the proceeds go to their Marital trust?

As far as I know, after the property is sold off, then the sale proceeds will go directly to them and not to the marital trust.
