I have a Manufactured(Mobile) Home and Property I own outright. I was wondering how I can get a loan(Mortgage) against it. The reason I ask is because I do NOT have the greastest credit. I looked at my Score this Month and it was 555. I have other loans I pay ONTIME, but my Divorce from years ago all but destroyed my credit. It has not become worse, but my credit has NOT become any better since then either. Thank You for ANY help you can provide.

Hi Ben,

You need to have a good credit to qualify for a mobile home loan. No lender is going to offer you a mortgage with a credit score of 555. You need to have at least a score of 620 to qualify for an FHA insured loan. If you want to have a conventional loan, you need a credit score of over 700 points to qualify. Until you improve your credit to at least 620 points, you have little chance of qualifying for a mortgage.

Please could you advise. We were in the middle of buying a new manufactured home and I say middle cause we had gone back and forth with the blue prints of the changes we wanted the home to have. And then comes the bad news I was notified of a layoff that would happen 2 days later. I recently got married to the man I had lived with for 3 years and his credit is not so good (he has a home in VA in short sell and has missed one payment already) my credit is Excellant!! Thank God I have strived very hard to keep it this way. Is there anything that I can do to qualify for a conventional loan without including my husband on the report but he does give me monies for the payment on the home plus I have my unemployment benefits and 20K down payment? Appreciate in advance any and all advice. Thank you
