mortgage on older mobile for disable person

Can I purchase a 1961 mobile home on permanent foundation in park that you rent space. The purchase price is $15,000 I am on disability at this time but it is not permenant if so who would do this type of loan.

lot more depend upon the fact whether the mobile is listed or not? if it is listed then it becomes lot more easy.

Again this mobile home is too old so i doubt whether it does hold any value or not?

Hi lburton,

A 1961 mobile home will not qualify for a loan. As per the Federal National Manufactured Housing Construction and Safety Standards Act of 1974, mobile homes have to follow the safety standards specified in the Act in order to qualify for a loan. The homes built before 1976 do not follow these standards which is why the lenders do not want to finance these old homes.
