My fiancee and I are currently in a rent-to-own contract for a mobile home. We are interested in getting a loan to pay off this contract, make improvements to the home, consolidating our debts, purchasing a piece of land and moving the mobile home onto said property. We are estimating this would cost approximately $115,000-120,000. Is this something that is possible?

Hi kblank,

You can definitely look for a loan to pay off the rent-to-own contract and consolidate your other debts. What are your credit scores? Is your income enough to qualify for a loan of $115,000-120,000? Do you have too much of debt obligations? However, it could be difficult to qualify for a mobile home loan if you are planning for a relocation of the home to a different lot. As far as I know, FHA does not allow loans against mobile homes which are shifted from a particular lot to a different one.
