For obtaining a Mortgage Broker License in Nebraska the following points are to be considered:

1. The application, completed and signed, must be submitted together with the non-refundable application fee.
   
   
2. Determination whether exemptions from registration or licensing as a mortgage banker in the state is obtainable or not. The Mortgage Bankers Registration and Licensing Act can be referred to in this regard which provides a list of entities and/or transactions exempted.
   
   
3. An original $50,000 surety bond is required on the part of the license seeker. This has to be issued by a surety company authorized to do business in Nebraska.
   
   
4. The address and the original written consent of an authorized registered agent located in Nebraska needs to be submitted by the applicant.

The decision of granting or denying the license will be made by the department within 90 days of receiving the complete application package. Mortgage Brokers License holders or Mortgage Bankers holding license in Nebraska State need to renew their licenses by 1st March every year. The period of renewal begins from the last week of December and continues till 1st of March. It may be noted that the Act does not mention about any specific education or experience requirements for the purpose of obtaining a Mortgage broker License.
