Hi dht,

As far as I know, the homestead law in New Hampshire is different from that in other states. In New Hampshire, the homestead is automatic i.e. you are not required to file fill out a form and file it with the Registry of Deeds office. The homestead exemption will be applicable to your property as long as you use the property as your primary residence. But the homestead exemption in NH is limited to only $30k per person and $60k per couple.
