add wife to deed

gene Guest	Posted: Thu Jun 04, 2009 1:32 pm    Post subject: add wife to deed I bought this house before we were married, refinanced it and she co signed note. House is paid off. Is it advisable to hire an attorney to do this or do a quick claim to add her to the deed in New Jersey.

You can add your wife's name either through a quitclaim deed or a warranty deed. It is always better to hire an attorney and ask him to draft the deed. Do not forget to notarize and record the deed at the county recorder's office. Feel free to ask if you have further queries. Sussane
