I have a quit claim deed to my house...my husband signed off on our home 10 years ago for various reasons... in the event of a divorce can he sue me for the house... does he have any rights of ownership? I live in NJ.

Hi Aichris,

You've mentioned that your husband signed a quit claim deed and transferred the property to you. I hope that you're the sole owner of the property and have notarized and filed the deed at the county recorder's office. In that case, you will be considered as the owner of the property and your husband will not be able to sue you for it.

Thanks
Guest
