I plan to move out of state (to NJ) for a new job which will start Oct 15. I will continue at my current job until Sep 30. I wish to purchase a house in NJ with closing date Aug 1, but am having trouble finding a mortgage because I obviously will not have a pay stub. I am a physician and have a signed contract with my new employer, excellent credit, 20% cash for a down payment and can easily cover the mortgage payments for the new house as well as my current house until I sell it with my current and future jobs' salaries. How can I find a lender willing to close on a loan 75 days before I start my new job (even though there will only be 2 weeks between jobs)?

Hi stephenwillis,

It is true that the lender will always want to check your employment details before you are approved for a mortgage. As you have signed an agreement with your employer, you can show it as a proof of your job. It will be the lender's discretion whether or not he would consider this and give you a loan.

Thanks
