me and my brother own a two family home in nj. when we refinanced, he was the only one put on mortgage, but we are both on deed. am i responsible for paying the mortgage? can he do anything if i dont? we had an agreement that i would pay 1/2 taxes and 1/2 homeowners ins. now he is requesting i pay 1/2 mortgage?

Hi masscarr,

As your name is not mentioned on the mortgage doc, you're not personally liable for the loan payments. Your brother won't be able to do anything if you don't pay the mortgage unless you've signed an agreement in this regard.
