FDIC to help borrowers with underwater mortgage

Those homeowners who have mortgages worth more than their home value are facing difficulty in paying off their mortgage. Thus, FDIC is planning to come up with a way out which will help homeowner's to reduce their principal balance on their mortgage if their property is underwater and if they meet certain criteria. However, this plan will help those homeowners who have tried to keep up with their mortgage payments though their properties are underwater.

Lets see how many people they actually help. All of the other programs sounded good but nobody qualified.
