IL Attorney General sues 7 mortgage rescue companies

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has sued 7 mortgage rescue companies and warned consumers about rising foreclosure scams to which homeowners fall a prey. In each lawsuit, Madigan has sought a permanent injunction which will prevent the companies from getting involved in mortgage rescue. Madigan has also asked the courts to seek a civil penalty of $ 50,000 from each defendant.
