In a recent report, it has been found that in the year 2006, around 1.4 million people did not filed their tax returns, even though they were to receive their due refunds. As a result, IRS has $1.3 billion worth of refunds from that tax year. Taxpayers can now apply and get their old refund checks. The refund checks could be as high as $800 for some taxpayers. However, the claim should be made via 2006 Form 1040 by April 15.
