I had a VERY pushy mortgage broker tell me that if my father goes on the mortgage as a co-signer for purposes of showing more income then I would not be eligible for a first-time homebuyers mortgage & it would need to be financed as an investment property since my dad already owns a home & only I would be living there full-time. Can anyone confirm or dispute this information? Please help!

Hi mousemedic,

I feel that the information given to you by your mortgage broker is correct. However, in such a situation, you may not be considered as first time home buyer.

Thanks
