As the seller of 1/4 part of real estate to a refinancing buyer (who is 1/2 half owner of that real estate) in N.Y.S. am I required by law to sign over the deed for my partial ownership three days prior to receiving the payment for my sale? Refinance mortgage commitment has been approved for buyer.

Welcome Guest,

I'm not sure about the time period before which you'll have to transfer the property. However, it is true that in order to get the loan transferred in his name, the new owner should have the whole property in his name. You can have a word with a New York based real estate attorney and take his opinion in this regard.
