A creditor is suing me for unpaid creditor card. I've been back and forth with them but I can't pay as I am not working. I just paid off my car and I have the title (lien free). Can NC court put a lien on my car? Can they freeze my joint bank account which is the state credit union? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi chesterw,

If you cannot pay off the credit card debts, then the credit card company can definitely place a lien on your car or garnish your savings account. In my opinion, it would be a better option to negotiate a payment plan with them which can make it affordable for you to pay off the loan.

Thanks
