Wells Fargo won't help me keep my home. I need to get it refinanced away from them. I got behind with them because my ex-husband quit paying child support. I shouldn't have counted on that. I got further behind because they have been playing their "modification" game. I kept asking can I make a payment and was told to wait. This last time they approved the modification and took my "good faith" money. Then they decided they didn't want to approve the modification, put the money back in my checking after a month, and within two days I was sent papers saying they were going to sell my house in January. I don't want a handout, just a fair chance. I live in North Carolina.

Hi wanda_j_kenny,

It is the lender's discretion whether or not he will consider your request for a loan modification. If you did not meet the required criteria of the lender, then the lender may not consider your request. I would suggest you to reapply for a loan modification. If he does not accept your request, then you can apply for a deed in lieu of foreclosure in order to get rid of the property.

Thanks
