My problem is stated in an ealier e-mail, ( ex husband a judge, separation agreement, will not refinance loans and borrowing more) however I am sure that the ex does not have the resources to refiance all of the properties without an extra income to claim. So while I am brainstorming here I am wondering if I was able to get him to release the quitclaims, at least I could sell the property and pay off the loans if he dies. Does that seem like a viable option? He does NOT have a will and we live in North Carolina.

Hi Katherine!

Welcome to forums!

You will have to ask your husband to reverse the deed. He will have to sign back the quit claim deed to you so that you become the owner of the property. Once you become the owner of the property, you'll be able to sell off the property without his permission and try to pay off the dues.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
