My grandmother died in September. She is on the mortgage. My husband and i are on the deed with her as tenants with right of survivorship. My aunts and uncles who are in charge of her estate are wanting me to get a new mortgage. With my credit score that is not possible. What are my options here in North Carolina?

i'm of the opinion that you are lacking options at the moment. convey this to your aunt and uncle, and then go to work to attack that credit monster. i'm hopeful that you'll be able to do so in a reasonable time frame. you don't want family matters to be done in by your credit record, of course.

i am also hopeful that you will be able to do this without a great deal of strain.

So there is no way that the mortgage would be transferable to me since i am on the deed as right of survivorship.

Since they are in control of her estate, can they make me sale this. She did this for me when she was alive, and now they are wanting me to sale.

i didn't say all that bella, but your option of refinancing is now looking too sterling at the moment, based on what you noted about your credit report.

can they make you sell? i don't believe so...though they can make your life a little less easy if that's what they'd like for you to do. if you don't have one now, i suggest you find a lawyer who can help you navigate through this choppy sea.
