My husband purchased his home before we were married and has stated in his will that his daughter will get his home and property when he dies. Do I have any legal rights in Ohio, as his wife, to his home?

Hi Renaye,

If the property deed does not include your name, then you won't be considered as an owner of the property. After your husband's death, the daughter will get the property. If you're living in a state where the dower rights are recognized, then you can claim it if your husband dies without a will or if you dissent from the will.

Thanks
